I am fluent in both English and Japanese.
I identify myself as someone who is both Japanese and Canadian - born in Japan and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. I obtained my first bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Archaeology from Simon Fraser University but left the field of Science to pursue my life-long desire of Arts. I moved to California and enrolled in the Graphic Design program at the California Institute of the Arts.
I spent a year in San Francisco working with Start-Up companies and businesses, which strengthened the multi-desciplary and multi-tasking skills. My design tasks were never consistent; I tackled various areas of specialization depending on the project and client needs. Amidst the Bay Area IT-Tech boom, I also had opportunities to work with musicians, art collectives, film makers, and business owners from other industries.
Now back in Canada, I am in Montréal leading various design projects both locally and remotely for domestic and international clients. During my spare time, I enjoy discovering events, food joints, gardens, museums, and markets. I am always lookng for that Hackathon or Game Jam to do a short-term fun project. (Let me know if there's one up coming!)
